At the Global Schools Group, we believe that our students’ education should not be limited to the classroom but must in fact, extend to realities of the world. We take upskilling and social responsibility very seriously and the past few months are witness to the schools buzzing with such activities and events.

Global Excellence Day
The annual Global Excellence Day (GED) held on GSG’s Foundation Day, is one of the many steps towards our commitment to fostering excellence in education. Over the years, GED has become synonymous with GSG's unwavering dedication to nurturing innovation, creativity and quality across its global network of schools. And this edition was no different.
With participation from 132 students from five countries - India, Singapore, Philippines, Malaysia and Japan, GED 2024,held on September 18, revolved around the theme of SITE - Sustainability, Innovation, Technology and Entrepreneurship.
Through Quality Circle projects, the students learnt to adopt a forward-thinking approach, collaborate for solutions and strive for excellence in the real world.
This is one of the many ways we strive to shape the leaders of tomorrow by instilling in them a strong foundation in innovation, sustainability, and entrepreneurship.
GIISMUN Tokyo
Global Indian International School (GIIS) Tokyo recently also hosted its fourth chapter of the Model United Nations summit at Tower Hall Funabori, Tokyo.
The conference, themed "Empower, Educate, and Evolve Towards Global Harmony," featured 265 delegates from eight countries - Japan, India, Malaysia, Georgia, Cameroon, Cambodia, Singapore, and South Korea - representing 25 nationalities from 22 international schools.
Among the many schools participating were GSG schools OWIS Whitefield (Bangalore), Witty International School (Udaipur), GIIS Noida, GIIS Ahmedabad, GIIS SMART Campus, (Singapore), and Harrods International, Cambodia. GIISMUN Tokyo’s mission promoted a greater understanding of global issues among students and encouraged open-mindedness in the face of diversity and adversity.
The conference featured multiple committees including UNEP, UNICEF, ECOSOC, WFP, UNSC, DISEC, and SOCHUM and addressed crucial global issues.
On the final day, GIIS Tokyo hosted a Student Exchange Programme with over 115 participants from 10 international schools across India. This programme enabled participants to explore Japanese culture, experience the Tanabata celebration, and forge cross-cultural connections, enhancing the global perspective of the event.
Events like these are crucial for students as they provide a platform to engage with current global issues, develop essential skills such as public speaking, negotiation, and problem-solving, and foster a deeper understanding of international relations. These experiences shape students into well-rounded global citizens prepared to make positive contributions to the world.
Making a Difference at GSG
GSG MockCOP
Education at GSG is a lot about universal values and responsibility towards the environment, and this year’s GSG MCOP was about a youth-led climate dialogue.
The UN Mock COP (Conference of Parties) is a dynamic simulation of the UN Climate Change Conference, significant in bringing the youth’s perspective and engagement to shape global climate policies, especially in light of the escalating global climate crisis.
The highlight of the event, held on September 24-25, was the diversity and collaboration fostered among students. Teams were formed by putting together participants from different schools and countries, promoting a rich exchange of ideas and perspectives that transcended traditional education.
In her inaugural address, UN Youth Climate Champion for COP 29, Ms. Leyla Hasanova, praised GSG’s initiative in empowering youth. She urged students to follow the ‘GSG’ method: Get educated, Seek innovation, and Guide by example in their sustainability journey.
We are very proud of our students and their increasing awareness and evolving outlook towards world issues that matter, because these are the global citizens of tomorrow and we know that the future lies in good hands.
