Qutuhal Q7 – Reimagined for 2025

Qutuhal, one of the longest-running innovation competitions in the region, returns this year in an all-new format as Q7. Over the years, Qutuhal has become a platform where young minds explore, create, and showcase their innovative thinking. Now in its 7th edition, it continues to inspire thousands of students across the UAE and Global Schools Group campuses worldwide, providing them with the opportunity to solve challenges that matter to the future, with amazing cash prizes awaiting the most impactful ideas.

About Qutuhal Season 7

This new year-long programme is designed to help students across all grades pick up future-ready skills and understand how AI can be applied in everyday life.

In line with the UAE’s Year of Community, Qutuhal Prime encourages students to come together to explore real-world challenges, think creatively, and work on ideas that connect with their communities. With the theme “AI for All – Connecting Communities,” students from Grade 1 to Grade 12 will have the chance to explore how technology can solve problems that matter — making AI something every learner can understand and use.

Programme Overview

Qutuhal Q7 Challenges

Starting from October 13th to December 13th 2025, with a Grand Finale in January 2026, each week a unique challenge will be released to all participants. While the theme remains consistent across grades, the complexity and expectations will be tailored according to four broad student categories.

Connecting Communities: Connecting Communities through Creative Innovation

The Finale Challenge honors the ability of young innovators to use creativity and technology to close gaps, solve real-world problems, and make a difference. This theme inspires students to design ideas, prototypes, and solutions that bring people together—strengthening communication, improving accessibility, enhancing well-being, and building stronger, more connected communities. Through innovation, empathy, and imaginative thinking, participants showcase how young minds can unite diverse groups and shape a collaborative future.

Category 1: (Grades 1-2)

Challenge 1: Shadow Storytelling

Observe how shadows change with different light sources like the sun, a torch, or a lamp. Use your hands, toys, or everyday objects to create a short story using shadows. Explain how the shadow changes when you move the object closer, farther, or at different angles from the light.

Wonders of Science
Examples
:
  • Use your hands to shadow animals (dog, bird, rabbit) and narrate a mini-story.
  • Place a toy in sunlight in the morning and again in the afternoon to show how its shadow changes direction and size.
  • Use a lamp to show how moving the toy closer or farther changes the shadow’s size.
Key Learning
:
Light travels in straight lines, and shadows change with the position and intensity of light.

AI Challenge: Prompt Picture

In this fun and creative activity, you  will take your steps into the world of Artificial Intelligence by becoming AI Artists! Using a simple and exciting tool like Bing Image Creator or Craiyon, students will type in a sentence (called a prompt) and watch the AI turn their words into amazing pictures. Try out 2–3 different prompts and observe how small changes in the words can change the picture. This helps them understand that how we ask matters – even to a robot! Once you find your favorite image, save it, write (or record) a short line about why they chose that prompt, and get ready to showcase your imagination!
